WALLA WALLA – New details have been released regarding a shooting that injured two men early Tuesday morning in Walla Walla.
According to court records, Miguel Angel Ferrusca, 21, allegedly shot Ernesto Moreno Madrigal, 26, and Julian D. Saldana, 20, at 12:33 a.m. as they went to pick up a female on the 200 block of Tausick Way. Madrigal told police that when he and Saldana arrived, Ferrusca told them to get off the property. Ferrusca allegedly confronted them with an assault style rifle.
Madrigal claims neither he or Saldana were on Ferrusca’s property. Suddenly, Ferrusca began shooting, hitting Saldana multiple times and Madrigal once in the left leg. As Saldana fell to the ground, Ferrusca began kicking Saldana. Madrigal said Ferrusca was with three or four other men who Madrigal suspected were Ferrusca’s brothers.
Both Madrigal and Saldana were able to get into a car and leave the area. They were able to flag down an ambulance and paramedics around 2nd Avenue and Rose Street.
Madrigal told police he does not know why this happened but was asked by Saldana to come along to pick up a girl. Madrigal stated Saldana and Ferrusca have problems, but that he does not have problems with the Ferrusca brothers. According to court documents, Madrigal also stated to police he is the father of Ferrusca’s mother’s youngest child.
Ferrusca was arrested about three hours after the shooting. He is charged with two counts of first-degree assault and is lodged in the Walla Walla County Jail. His bail is set at $100,000.
