SENECA – A new Area of Known Wolf Activity has been designated by Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife in southern Grant County. According to an ODFW release, evidence of a single wolf has been documented in the Bear Valley area, establishing the Bear Valley AKWA. Monitoring is ongoing to learn more about wolf activity in this area.
Speaking of wolf activity, more depredations were recorded in Grant County—this time along Strawberry Creek, outside of Prairie City. On Thursday, May 23, ODFW officials confirmed that a wolf or wolves from the Logan Valley Pack injured an adult cow, a yearling, and an eight-month-old calf on private property along Strawberry Creek. Nothing further was released regarding the depredations.
