MONUMENT – Monument School students are making efforts to keep things clean by promoting recycling, as well as generating a little money thatโll go right back to student activities. Superintendent Laura Thomas informed KJDY listeners that the students are working on an area to take bottles and cans:
โThey applied for some grant money through Bottle Drop, and received it, and theyโre now planning and starting to build this small covered area where they can keep the recycling.
It was just something that the kids wanted to take on that they identified as a need around the school.โ
Thomas said there are no other places in Monument that do this type of collection for recycling. She noted that it’s an “excellent fundraiser for the kids.”
