MONUMENT, OR – (Release from Laura Thomas, Superintendent at Monument School District)

“The number of COVID cases in the community of Monument have risen in the past three days with the district having three “presumptive positives” and two confirmed positive cases of COVID. Out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of students, families, staff, and community we are transitioning to a distance learning model for all students, for the remainder of this school week and for the week of January 11th. In the coming week the district will work closely with the Grant County Health Department to determine when it is appropriate to return students to in-person instruction. We will keep parents updated through our parent email list while also utilizing social media and our website.”
