MONUMENT – Superintendent at Monument School, Laura Thomas, told KJDY listeners on Monday that the school were the recipients of just under $2.5 million for a seismic retrofit project on their high school building:
“Now, they’ll actually come in and make sure the building is seismically sound.
It’ll be a huge project. It’ll be a very summer here. I actually adjusted this current year’s school calendar, and next year’s, in an effort to lengthen the summer a little bit to give more time for the construction. We’re getting out of school about a week or two early this year, and next year, we’re going to start about a week later than normal.”
