PENDLETON – The National Weather Service has once again pushed back the end of the excessive heat warning it has issued for the region. It is now set to end on Sunday at 11 p.m. Meteorologist Colby Goatley said that it’s been hard to predict when relief would appear.
“Models have been calling for a low pressure to come through and break down this high pressure ridge that’s plagued us this week, and unfortunately they’ve just continued to move that back a little bit,” Goatley said.
He added that there will not be a sudden, dramatic cooling.
“It will still be warm on Monday,” he said. “Right now we’re looking at the mid to upper 90s, probably about 97.”
