Mitchell tabbed NAIA All-American

LA GRANDE – (Information provided EOU Athletics) The NAIA released its 2021 Women’s Soccer All-America teams and Eastern Oregon University once again had a player make the list.

Earning All-America honors for the Mountaineers is senior defender Sarah Mitchell. The Palmdale, Calif. picked up her second consecutive All-American honor after being named Honorable Mention. Mitchell was an Honorable Mention All-American in 2020 as well.

Mitchell was the anchor on the Mountaineers’ defense in 2021. She appeared in 14 games and was a starter in 11 of those contests. She played all 90 minutes in multiple contests and was part of a defense that allowed just 15 goals during the season and posted nine shutouts. The Mountaineer’s nine shutouts were third-most in the league during the regular season. For Mitchell, she finishes her EOU career as a two-time All-American. She also is a four-time All-CCC selection with two being as a First Team member (2020 & 2021).
