LA GRANDE – Just before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, the Oregon State Police responded to a report of a Honda Accord driving erratically westbound on I-84 in the La Grande area near Milepost 260. The vehicle was later discovered to be connected to a missing persons case in Idaho, with the driver, a 70-year-old Meridian man, eventually being located and successfully released to family member.
A summary of the report and search, as provided by OSP in a recent press log, is as follows:
“On 6/5/26 at approximately 3:58pm, Oregon State Police dispatch received a driving complaint of a Honda Accord traveling west bound on Interstate 84 that was speeding and cutting in and out of traffic. Oregon State Police Troopers attempted to locate the vehicle in the La Grande area. Oregon State Dispatch advised that the license plate of the vehicle was associated with a missing person in Idaho.
The vehicle was located and the driver agreed to go to the hospital with Troopers. The driver was eventually released to a family member. The vehicle was left on scene at the family member’s request.”
According to the press log, no citations or criminal charges were issued at the time.
