Missing female found safe

WALLA WALLA – A woman reported missing last Wednesday has been found safe. Courtney L. Shelton, 55, and her German Shepherd dog were located Tuesday morning off Harvey Shaw Road, about 25 miles north of Walla Walla.

The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office said at 11:14 a.m., Shelton exited a shop located in the middle of a privately owned field and approached field workers asking for assistance.

Deputies responded and confirmed Shelton was the missing woman. She and her dog were transported to Walla Walla for medical clearance.

“She appears dehydrated but otherwise is doing well,” Undersheriff Joe Klundt said in a news release.

Shelton was located about 14 miles northeast of where her vehicle was found abandoned last Wednesday on Yox Road, north of Lowden.
