Minimal damage reported in Pendleton fire

PENDLETON – Pendleton Fire & Ambulance Assistant Chief of Operations Brian Hemphill reports that first responders were notified of a residential fire on the 800 block of Southwest 12th Street at 2:07 p.m. today (Friday). The first unit arrived six minutes after dispatch.

They found smoke in a portion of the structure with everyone evacuated.

“Upon investigation, the fire was located on the cook stove,” Hemphill wrote in an email. “There was minimal fire extension to the structure itself and the residence was ventilated. No injuries were reported.”

Hemphill stated that the last unit cleared the scene at 2:47 p.m.
