Milton-Freewater woman charged with assault of police officer

MILTON-FREEWATER – A woman has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault involving a Milton-Freewater police officer and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Michelle Lee Phillips, 36, of Milton-Freewater was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly was acting violent, screaming and sprayed someone with an unknown substance.

Officers located Phillips on the 900 block of Northeast First Avenue at 4:33 pm. While detaining Phillips, she struck an officer in the head, causing minor injury to the officer.

Phillips is lodged in the Umatilla County Jail.
