MILTON-FREEWATER – On Monday, the Milton-Freewater City Council did not adopt a contract or compensation amount for Tim Johnson, former Lincoln County administrator, who has been appointed as interim city manager. No start or end date for Johnson was set either.

A public discussion and approval of Johnson’s contract and compensation is to occur during a special session city council meeting next Thursday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m.

The meeting will be held in the Albee Room of the Milton-Freewater City Library, 8 Southwest Eighth Avenue.

The interim city manager’s role is to stabilize operations, lead staff, and aid in finding a permanent city manager, maintaining transparency and trust throughout.
