MILTON-FREEWATER – Effective immediately, the city of Milton-Freewater has stopped collecting used cooking oil at the recycling depot located at 640 County Road.
The city said late last week it had been notified by the company that collects the used cooking oil that they are no longer able to provide that service due to new traceability guidelines they must follow in their reuse process.
The city is asking residents to not place used cooking oil and grease down the drain. Instead, residents are asked to put those materials in a sealed container and place them next to their trash can.
