MILTON-FREEWATER — The Milton-Freewater City Council has offered its city manager position to Nicole Schneider, a public sector leader with more than 26 years of experience in municipal finance, law, and operations.
Schneider previously delivered seven consecutive years of perfect financial audits and managed $300 million in capital improvement projects. She holds a master’s degree in public administration and a doctoral graduate certificate in executive public policy.
Milton-Freewater operates under a council-manager government, managing a $45 million to $48 million budget, complex municipally owned utilities, and with about 65 full-time employees. The council establishes policy and provides strategic direction for the city.
Her starting salary is $150,000, with a review in six months. No start date has been set yet, as the city attorney is currently working on her contract.
