BOARDMAN – The Oregon Legislature is sending $15 million to fund a UAS facility in Boardman. Rep. Greg Smith (R-Heppner) said the project is a cooperative military venture.
“It’s going to be $15 million for the Boardman Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Facility,” he said. “It’s going to be an opportunity for a joint collaboration between the Navy and the Army.”
Smith said he wasn’t sure of the timeline for the creation of the facility.
“The project is going to be undertaken by the Oregon National Guard and the Oregon Military Department,” he said. “At some point in time, we’ll have to get greater communication from them on how those details are going to play out.”
