Melody Shockley sworn in as newest Grant County EO CASA Advocate

Judge Robert Raschio swore in Melody Shockley on October 31, 2023 as the newest Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) serving Grant County for the ‘CASA of Eastern Oregon’ Program.

“The CASA program is essential to ensuring children are safe.  Ms. Shockley will serve our children well and ensure the Department of Human Services and the attorneys involved are providing the necessary and essential services to children and their families geared toward the best interest of the children.  I am grateful for Ms. Shockley’s commitment to our children” Judge Raschio stated. 

He further stated: “We need more Grant County volunteers.  CASA volunteers are essential party for improving outcomes and achieving quicker resolutions to cases providing permanency for our most vulnerable children.”  

More advocates are needed from all walks of life. If you are someone who wishes to ensure children are safe and families are receiving the necessary services, all you need is a commitment to family and to children.  CASA will provide all the training and continued support necessary for you to see your commitment through.
