Melissa Bethel accepts John Day City Manager position

JOHN DAY – The job offer has been accepted and the letter has been signed. The City of John Day has hired a new City Manager. Melissa Bethel officially accepted the position on October 16th. The John Day City Council had a meeting last Tuesday evening, October 24th.
Bethel, hailing from Lakeside, Oregon, will officially step into the role on January 2nd, 2024. The base salary for this position is $130,000 annually. Performance evaluations will be held after the first 6 months into the job, and annually after that.
