MedQuest is free for the first time to all 2025 & 2026 participants

LA GRANDE – (Release from the Northeast Oregon Area  Health Education Center) For the first time ever, MedQuest will be offered for free!

MedQuest is the longest running health career exploration summer camp for high school students in Oregon, and it is offered by Northeast Oregon Area Health Education Center (NEOAHEC). Oregon Health Authority (OHA) has awarded grant funding to provide scholarships to all MedQuest participants in 2025 and 2026. This is a tremendous win for Eastern Oregon and the state, and NEOAHEC is incredibly grateful to the OHA for providing this opportunity.

The OHA is a government organization established in 2009 to work towards positive health outcomes for the state. In 2024, MedQuest was sited twice in the OHA Health Care Workforce Committee’s Workforce Development and Retention Subcommittee Strategy Paper as a program that should be expanded to increase recruitment and awareness of healthcare careers statewide.

Applications for Rural MedQuest in La Grande close April 1, and Frontier MedQuest in Burns is open until April 15. These camps are for all Oregon high school students who would like to learn more about careers in healthcare. For more information, please visit us at neoahec.org.
