Medical Springs RFPD get new brush thanks to grant funding

BAKER/UNION COUNTIES — The Medical Springs Rural Fire Protection District has recently announced the addition of a new firefighting brush rig, thanks to grant funding awarded by the Wildhorse Foundation and the Oregon Department of Forestry.

Medical Springs RFPD reached out to our newsroom to announce that the new truck was purchased with Wildhorse Foundation grant dollars. The new slip-in skid unit was acquired through ODF-administered grant funding, and allows the pickup to have water storage, pumping, and spraying capabilities. The volunteer agency reports that, “The project has been completed and the new unit is in service.”
