McKenzie Hall named as 2021 Lion John Leonard Memorial Scholarship recipient

BAKER CITY – McKenzie Hall has been named as the recipient of the 2021 Lion John Leonard Memorial Scholarship in Baker City.

According to Blake Marlia with the Lions Club, “The scholarship was developed to award those high school graduates most involved in local community service. Academic achievements remain important, but community involvement is the priority.”

McKenzie Hall was selected has the 2021 scholarship recipient due to her involvement in community events and her advocacy for kids with Type 1 diabetes.

Marlia noted that McKenzie is type 1 diabetic as well, and has attended multiple diabetic camps sponsored by the Lions Club.

She plans to attend Eastern Oregon University, and become a registered nurse.
