JOHN DAY – John Day Mayor Heather Rookstool was on KJDY’s Coffee Time on Tuesday, and she told listeners that while they are still on the hunt for a City Manager, they may be a little bit closer:
“We’re in contract negotiations with an Interim City Manager, but it would be a full-time, in-house interim [position] versus what we had last time with Rick [Allen], that was part-time, out-of-house.
He would sign a three-month term, and then in the middle of that three months, or at the end of that three months, if at any time the council or [he] want to make it a full-time, permanent thing, we can do that.”
Mayor Rookstool did not share the name of the potential candidate, but she did say that hopefully he’ll attend a city council meeting here soon.
