Mayor Lundbom reflects on city manager’s contributions

JOHN DAY – Last week John Day City Manager announced that 2022 would be his last year as John Day City Manager. Mayor Ron Lundbom reflected on the recognition Green has gained outside of Grant County lines:

He’s well recognized for what he’s done here. He was telling me today that he’s the only city manager on some kind of a water reuse board for the whole northwest region. He’s also the only city manager out of 250 cities that are on the State Housing [Board]—they want to copy what we’re doing with housing.

I know he’s gotten beat up over his wages, but man, you’re going to be floored when you find out what we’re going to have to pay the new guys.”
