MayDay Inc. releases statement on arrest of Eric Swanlund

BAKER CITY — (Press Release from MayDay, Inc.) MayDay, Inc. was made aware of the arrest of a former board member, Eric Swanlund on the evening of April 23rd, 2026. MayDay reaffirms our mission as a survivor-centered advocacy organization and our continued commitment to safety, accountability, transparency, and compassion.

MayDay believes victims and survivors. Our hearts and empathy are with the victim and the victim’s family, as well as with all survivors who may be impacted by this news. No one deserves to experience violence or abuse, and every survivor deserves to be met with belief, dignity, and support.

As of March 2026, Eric Swanlund ceased being a part of the MayDay’s Board of Directors.  At the same time the existing Board members left their roles. These individuals are no longer affiliated with MayDay and do not hold any roles or positions of authority within the organization.

MayDay is actively rebuilding its board governance and leadership structure with great care. This work is being done in collaboration with community partner organizations, who are assisting in the vetting of trusted individuals for future board appointments, and is grounded in transparency, accountability, and a shared commitment to survivor safety and trust.

In alignment with agency policies, MayDay will not provide further comment.
