UMATILLA COUNTY – Max Anagin Wilson, 25, of Milton-Freewater was booked into the Umatilla County Jail Thursday and faces multiple misdemeanor charges. It began when Umatilla County Emergency Dispatch reported Wilson, who had been trespassed previously, was digging through the garbage bins at Wayside Market.
A deputy responding to that call learned while en route that a person was walking into traffic on Highway 11 near the market. He located Wilson near Kelly’s Restaurant and informed him he was under arrest for trespassing.
At that point, Wilson reportedly jumped out into traffic on Highway 11 and ran across the road to evade arrest. The deputy made contact on the other side of the highway and handcuffed Wilson. At that point, he took off running again.
Milton-Freewater police arrived on the scene and assisted in taking Wilson into custody. Wilson is charged with four counts of second-degree criminal trespass, two counts of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and third-degree escape. According to the jail roster he also faces a felony charge of second-degree burglary.
