OKLAHOMA CITY – Pedro Pedrini of Pendleton will be one of the traditional cowboy artists whose work will be on display at the 22nd annual Traditional Cowboy Arts Exhibition and Sale at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City Friday and Saturday.

Pedrini oversees the Hamley saddle shop and runs the Hamley Saddle Academy. He was born in France in 1952 and became interested in Western riding and leathercraft as a youth. After making several trips to the United States to learn saddle making skills, he came to stay in 1984. He became a U.S. citizen in 1992.

He was named the 2008 Saddlemaker of the year by the Academy of Western Artists just one year after becoming a member of the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association. After living in California for many years, he relocated to Pendleton with his son, Tony. He owns Pedrini Saddle Company in Yerington, Nevada.

The exhibition also includes the work of other saddlers, bit and spur makers, silversmiths, and rawhide braiders. The sale for the items on display will take place Saturday and the remaining pieces will be on exhibit and available for purchase at the museum through Jan. 2, 2022.
