UNION COUNTY — UPDATE: Some areas of Union County are seeing power restored. Around 12,500 residents are still being listed as without power. At this time, Elkhorn Media Group’s La Grande office has power again and our stations are back alone.

Community Update: Countywide Power Outage
Grande Ronde Hospital has been impacted by the countywide power outage and is currently operating on generator power. To ensure patient safety, generator power is being prioritized for critical care areas.
Please do not come to the hospital unless you are experiencing a medical emergency.

A power outage affecting Union County is currently impacting communications at ODOT’s Region 5 office in La Grande and surrounding maintenance facilities. Office email and some communications systems are currently unavailable. Drivers should use caution when traveling and be prepared for dark traffic signals and electronic roadside signs that may not be operating. Treat dark traffic signals as four-way stops. PREVIOUS: A large power outage is currently impacting Union County. At this time, over 11,000 residents are reportedly experiencing outages across most cities and communities according to OTEC’s outage information system. We have no information on a cause at this time.
Be mindful of EMS and OTEC crews traveling throughout the area. Also be mindful of non-functional traffic signals
In addition, Elkhorn Media Group’s La Grande office is currently without power. As such, our local radio stations are offline at this time.
