Masks on for BMCC

PENDLETON – Blue Mountain Community College has made the decision to require masks be worn indoors. Lane Community College in Eugene is the only one to require students and staff be vaccinated. BMCC is one of five out of the state’s 17 community colleges to require masks.
“Most of the five that are requiring masks are in areas where there’s high COVID testing,” Interim President Connie Green said. “It’s just about where you are.”
Green said the mask rule is for all people, vaccinated or not vaccinated.
“We will evaluate it in early October, and if the COVID is going down, we’ll take the masks away,” she said. “We’re just going to do it month by month.”
