PENDLETON – Business owners, employees, and local government officials are unanimous when they say the current mask mandates are totally confusing.
Pendleton Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Cheri Rosenberg said that employees are hesitant to ask their customers if they are vaccinated, and many business owners don’t like it either.
“If you’re not comfortable being the mask police then don’t do it,” Rosenberg said. “That is not to fall on you. We continue to fight that daily.”
While mask confusion reigns, Rosenberg also urges customers to keep calm. Neither the employee nor the owner want to make you put a mask on.
“Have it in your hand,” she said. “If that poor little 18-year-old girl asks you to put it on, even if you don’t want to, please be kind about it.”
