PENDLETON – Fresh on the heels of news that the old Knights Inn in Pendleton has a new owner that is busy refurbishing the motel, there’s news that there could be interest in another property. Pendleton Development Commission Associate Director Charles Denight said there could be a fresh start in the cards for the Marigold Hotel, which is on the market.
“The people that I’ve talked to that are looking at it are all people that will operate it as a motel, but they’re all planning to spend quite a bit of money – a million dollars plus – to fix it up and really make it shine,” he said.
The hotel property also includes a full commercial kitchen including a walk-in cooler and a second-floor banquet room.
It’s not currently in business according to its listing with Crystal Investment Property of Vancouver. The reason it’s not operating is the city of Pendleton rescinded its business license following months of problems bringing police to the premises repeatedly. The license was revoked after a shooting there in November 2021.
