Update: management of Cold Springs Fire handed back to UCSO1, evacuation levels lifted

UPDATE: Saturday 7/5/25 11 a.m. ALL EVACUATION LEVELS HAVE BEEN LIFTED

HERMISTON โ€“ With containment now at 98 percent the Oregon State Fire Marshalโ€™s (OSFM) โ€œGreen Teamโ€ are demobilizing, and management of the Cold Springs Fire is being transitioned back to Umatilla County Fire District No. 1. Task forces from Clackamas, Linn, Washington and Yamhill Counties were all involved with management of the fire that started on Wednesday.

The last report on Friday from the OSFM put the size of the fire at 2,489 acres. One residential structure was lost as a result, no injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Level 1, Be Ready evacuation orders remain in effect at Salmon Point west to Hat Rock, North of Oregon Highway 37 to Juniper Canyon, and south of U.S. Highway 730 to Cold Springs Reservoir between Tabor Road and Oregon Highway 37. The shelter that was set up at the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center has been closed.
