Man shot in abdomen in Milton-Freewater

MILTON-FREEWATER – The Milton-Freewater Police Department reports a 35-year-old man was shot in the abdomen Sunday night. It happened just before 10 p.m. in the area of NE Third Avenue and NE Miller Street.
The victim was transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center by ambulance.
Chief Joe Shurtz said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident between the suspect and the victim. However, at this time in the investigation, Shurtz said the victim is not being cooperative.
“Unfortunately, sometimes in these investigations victims and witnesses fail to cooperate with law enforcement in helping make a successful prosecution,” Shurtz added.
