WALLA WALLA – Alejandro Jose Lomeli, 27, of Walla Walla was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison for his involvement in the Aug. 27, 2023, shooting of a 27-year-old man at the Shell gas station, located on the 2100 block of East Isaacs Avenue. Prosecutors said the victim was a random member of the public.

Earlier this month, a Walla Walla County Superior Court jury found Lomeli guilty of first-degree assault with a firearm, drive-by shooting, unlawful possession of a firearm, and malicious mischief in both the second and third degree.

The jury also found Lomeli committed the shooting to enhance his status as a member of a criminal street gang. Lomeli was also sentenced to three years community custody upon his release.
