WALLA WALLA – A College Place man arrested this summer on suspicion of kidnapping, robbery and assault involving a Walla Walla couple was sentenced Monday in Walla Walla County Superior Court. Brian J. Rosenkranz, 42, pleaded guilty to amended charges in October which included two counts of unlawful imprisonment, assault, harassment, and theft.
On Monday, Rosenkranz was sentenced to 96 days with credit for 96 days served but he is to be held up to 30 days for transfer to a certified substance use disorder residential treatment facility and he will be on community custody (supervision) with the Community Corrections Office of the Department of Corrections for 24 months, according to Walla Walla County Prosecuting Attorney Jim Nagle.
Rosenkranz, along with Arthur R. Waldon, 31, of Prescott and Billy Jo R. Dynes, 27, of College Place were arrested on August 5 for allegedly committing crimes against a 28-year-old man and his 32-year-old girlfriend on the night of July 27 and then abandoning the victims near Prescott. The alleged assault and threats made against the victims were reported to have stemmed from a debt the female victim owed.
Both Waldon and Dynes pleaded not guilty on August 16. Waldon’s trial is set to begin on December 13. Dynes’ trial begins January 10, 2022.
