Man killed in vehicle crash near Waitsburg

WAITSBURG – A 41-year-old man was killed when his vehicle struck a bridge pylon on Lower Hogeye Road just east of Waitsburg Friday night, according to the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office.

David Pounds’ vehicle rolled into a ditch following the accident at 10:35 p.m. Pounds was ejected and the vehicle became fully engulfed in fire. Pounds was declared deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.

The Washington State Patrol assisted in the investigation.
