STANFIELD — Oregon State Police reports that Michael Ray Wilson, 65, of Vancouver, Washington, was killed in a crash on Interstate 84 westbound at milepost 187 last evening (Monday).
The report states that a commercial truck driver from Colorado was parked on the shoulder of the interstate due to a possible mechanical problem. While the semi and trailer were parked, Wilson entered the paved shoulder for unknown reasons and collided with the rear of the truck.
Wilson was pronounced deceased at the scene. The truck driver, Nolan Francis Sanford, 29, of Arvada, Colorado and his passenger Juancarlos Cisneros, 25, of Lakewood, Colorado were not injured.
OSP was assisted at the scene by the Stanfield Police Department, the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, the Oregon Department of Transportation, and Umatilla County Fire District No. 1.
