Man jailed for Grant County assault

CANYON CITY – A man will spend time in jail and on probation for assault, according to Grant County Circuit Court documents. David Wayne Mauseth, 42, pleaded ‘no contest’ to Assault in the Fourth Degree, committed in May of 2023. Details around the crime were not released.

Mauseth was sentenced to 30 days in jail, placed on Bench Probation for 36 months, and ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution. The plea was entered on August 8^th, 2024.
