IMBLER – A large police presence in Imbler on Friday turned out to be somewhat of a false alarm, leading to multiple charges for an Imber man.

Union County dispatch received a call at 11:00 a.m. from 47-year-old Joshua Treat who reported he was being attacked by a group of men and that there was at least one person dead inside his home on Ruckman Road. Union County Sheriff deputies and medics were dispatched to the home, and while in route dispatch received another call from a neighbor of Treat’s who reported gunshots coming from the home.

When deputies arrived, no one was outside of the home and deputies observed a broken glass screen door and bullet holes in the front door. An unarmed Treat met deputies outside where he was detained while deputies searched his home finding no one else inside or outside.

While speaking to Treat, deputies believed he was having “vivid hallucinations”.

10 shell casings were found inside the home. It was also discovered that one bullet had hit his neighbor’s house.

Treat is currently incarcerated at the Union County jail on charges of second-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree criminal mischief, reckless endangering, and unlawful use of weapon.
