Man arrested for violating lifetime fishing ban and other charges at Haines Pond

HAINES — A man who violated a lifetime ban from fishing was arrested and put behind bars in Baker County recently. According to information from the Oregon State Police, on July 4th, an officer with OSP Fish and Wildlife contacted an angler at Haines Pond #1, in Haines. It was discovered that the angler, identified as Michael Ray Womack, 34, of Island City, was currently serving a lifetime angling suspension and was caught driving while his license was suspendedโ€”a misdemeanor charge. Also, an arrest warrant out of Union County for โ€˜Failure to Appearโ€™ was confirmed.

Womack was arrested and lodged at the Baker County Jail.
