Man arrested for child sex abuse

UPDATE: A Pendleton police detective presented PPD’s case against Dean Robert Grove to a Umatilla County grand jury on Tuesday. The grand jury then issued a secret arrest indictment against Grove.

The charges he is being held on have been upgraded to two counts of first-degree rape, four counts of first-degree sodomy, two counts of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, and three counts of first-degree sex abuse.

PENDLETON – Dean Robert Grove, 70, of Pendleton is being held on $1,750,000 bond for serious allegations of child sex abuse. Charges against him include first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree sodomy.

He was arrested by Pendleton police Monday evening.

Due to the sensitive nature of this active investigation and out of respect to the victim, law enforcement officials are not releasing any further information at this time.
