Man arrested for burglary at onion storage facility

HERMISTON – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Wednesday afternoon in connection to a burglary at a large onion storage location on Walls Road.

Deputies responded to and investigated a burglary where they found multiple storage buildings were missing a substantial amount of electrical wire, large fuses, panel boxes, and air conditioning parts.

As a result of the investigation, UCSO issued probable cause for the arrest of Michael Don Norman, 40. He was located around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday near the Circle K in Umatilla by officers from the Umatilla Police Department.

Norman was arrested on charges of second-degree residential burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree aggravated theft, burglary tools in possession, and criminal conspiracy. He was lodged in the Umatilla County Jail.

UCSO said the investigation is ongoing.
