PASCO – A man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly biting a Pasco police dog earlier this month.
Cesar Enrique Ochoa, 27, of Richland, was found hiding in a broken-down SUV in the backyard of a home on the 2600 block of West Octave Street on March 5 following an attempted residential burglary a few blocks away.
When officers ordered Ochoa to get out of the SUV, he refused, so K-9 Hapo was deployed. According to court documents, Ochoa struggled with the K-9 and officers saw Ochoa biting Hapo on the neck.
Ochoa was taken into custody and booked into the Franklin County Jail on charges of residential burglary, harming a police dog, and vehicle prowling in the second-degree.
Following the incident, a police officer checked on Hapo and found that his neck was tender and sensitive to touch.
