John Day, Prairie City and Hines (Released by the Malheur National Forest)-The Malheur National Forest is rescinding the temporary bike trail closures near Magone Lake, effective August 30, 2023. The noncommercial thinning activity has been completed in those areas.

The noncommercial thinning activity was part of the Southern Blues Restoration Project, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Joint Chiefs’ Landscape Restoration Partnership.
