John Day, Prairie City and Hines-All Malheur National Forest offices will be closed Thursday, November 23, 2023, for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
The Malheur National Forest Supervisors office in John Day, will also be closed Friday, November 24, 2023. We apologize for the inconvenience.
For many families, the weekend after Thanksgiving is always a great time to venture into the forest and cut down a fresh Christmas tree. Remember to purchase your permits at your local office or vendor, and if you find yourself wanting to make a last-minute adventure for a Christmas tree, you can always purchase one at recreation.gov.
