VALE — Malheur County Emergency Management reports that a new sand bagging machine has made its way into their possession from state officials. Oregon Emergency Management gave Malheur County the new sandbagger and on December 12th, thanks to a State Preparedness and Incident Response Equipment (SPIRE) grant.
Malheur County Emergency Management wrote, “This is the first of two sand bagging machines that were made available to this region by the SPIRE grant, administered through Oregon Emergency Management. This one and Harney County’s trailer are owned by the State, but kept and maintained by our local jurisdictions so that the equipment is available to be used locally, regionally, or across the [state] if needed.”
