VALE – Be on the lookout for a specific brand of sprinkler heads.

That’s the message from the Malheur County Sheriff’s Office, after it says local farmers have had dozens of Rain Bird sprinkler heads stolen from irrigation hand lines and wheel lines.

The Sheriff’s Office says the thefts are occuring from fields off of Lagoon Lane and the John Day Highway outside of Vale. Recyclers and local outlets for this type of irrigation equipment have been contacted by deputies with negative results.

The Sheriff’s Office asks that you please let Sr. Deputy Belnap know if you have any information or have discovered an outlet where these may be going. You can call non-emergency dispatch at 541-473-5125.
