WALLA WALLA – Staff from the city of Walla Walla received reports Thursday regarding concerning air quality levels in the region from various air quality websites and applications. Some were showing the air quality index as high as 716. Anything above 300 is consider hazardous, according to the Washington State Department of Ecology.
Upon investigation, it was found there was a malfunction with the air quality sensor operated by the city. It is now undergoing maintenance.
City staff said Thursday that the regional air quality is at safe levels, and that it’s safe to be outdoors.
