WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Regional Drug and Gang Task Force, in coordination with multiple local and state law enforcement agencies, has disrupted an alleged drug trafficking operation following an investigation initiated by information received from the Washington State Penitentiary Intelligence and Investigations Unit.

On Tuesday morning, law enforcement was alerted by the penitentiary’s intelligence and investigation’s unit who intercepted a phone call which contained details of the plan to introduce controlled substances into the prison. The investigation expanded and it was learned that Scorpio Guy Robert Rodriguez, 32, of Walla Walla, and his associates from the prison and the Walla Walla County Jail were plotting the introduction.

Utilizing information obtained through monitored phone calls, an interview, and surveillance of residences in Walla Walla, detectives, with the assistance from local and state law enforcement agencies, secured a search warrant targeting three individuals, two vehicles, and two locations. As a result of the investigation, Rodriguez was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with possession with intent to deliver five different controlled substances.

Mikayla Forest, 27, of Pasco, and a visitor at the prison, was also arrested in connection with the scheme. She was booked on possession with intent to deliver.

On Wednesday, Forest was released on her own recognizance. Rodriguez’ bail was set at $500 cash. He paid bail and was released.

As for items seized during the warrant search, authorities found 2.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, more than 147 grams of liquid methadone, 110 fentanyl-laced pills, 95 Suboxone strips, 17 Oxycontin pills, 6 Adderall pills, more than 217 grams of suspected cocaine, four digital scales, drug paraphernalia, two firearms, ammunition, firearm components and a 3-D printer.
