PENDLETON โ€“ The Pendleton Main Street Cowboys work non-stop through Round-Up week, beginning with the Dress-Up Parade through four blocks of entertainment and a carnival on Main Street. In their chartreuse and purple cowboy shirts, they are at their most visible, but the work doesnโ€™t end with the rodeo.

MSC works throughout the year, appearing in parades, setting up their benches for a large number of events, and helping those in need in Pendleton. The group is in need of new people, since many of their members are in their 70s and 80s.

โ€œWe would really encourage younger people to join,โ€ Main Street Cowboy Larry Koehne said. โ€œCome talk to us. Weโ€™re really low pressure, and if you really want to participate and be part of the community, this is the best group of guys I have ever met in my life.โ€

Those who want to don the chartreuse and purple shirts merely need to approach a member on Main Street this week or email mainstreetcowboys@wtechlink.us.
