Magone Lake Campground closed during hazard tree mitigation

JOHN DAY – (Press Release from the Malheur National Forest)
The Malheur National Forest, Blue Mountain Ranger District will be conducting hazard tree mitigation in Magone Lake Campground, from May 29 to May 30, 2025. The campground will remain closed while crews complete this mitigation.
During this time, identified hazard trees will be fallen with in the campground to ensure public safety. Hazard trees will be cut, limbed and bucked on-site to prevent excessive fuel buildup in the area.
