MILTON-FREEWATER, Oregon – The name of the man who was fatally stabbed early Friday morning in the 600 block of Ward Street has been released. Police Chief Doug Boedigheimer says the victim is Christian Rodriguez Calvillo, 22, of 604 Ward St.
Boedigheimer says an autopsy was performed on the remains Monday, and the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the cause of death is a homicide.
Officers executed a search warrant at Calvillo’s home address in the presence of members form the Oregon State Police Crime Lab. Boedigheimer reports that they processed the scene thoroughly. Evidence gathered has been logged into the evidence room at the Milton-Freewater Police Department. No arrest has been made at this time.
Police responded to the call of a stabbing victim at 12:24 a.m. June 21. Emergency crews and police transported Calvillo to St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla. He died while he was being transported to a hospital in the Tri-Cities area.
Milton-Freewater police are continuing the investigation.
